The Graduate

Nick will just love the fact that this post is dedicated to him! (Hopefully you all picked up on the sarcasm) Last Friday Nick graduated from high school. My little big brother is all grown up. Kristen and I decided that Nick is our favorite brother, and really even we had another one there wouldn't be any competition. He's just hilarious. I think my favorite thing about being at home is how much I laugh. My family is hilarious. Although, Kristen and Nick were quick to point out that I am not very funny : (, but I think that they are wrong, maybe not the same caliber of funny as Dad and Nick, but that is like competing against a Olympic gold medalists in joke telling.
Anyway, last Friday was the day Nick graduated, and it had to be the hottest day in Central PA that anyone alive can remember. With all seriousness, I think the news said that we reached a new high that day. I believe it ended up being 95 degrees. And I thought I escaped the horribly hot weather by leaving Florida for a while. You can see Nick in the picture on the left. He's walking into the row. He's the third boy with
the gold sash.

How he got all the tall genes
I do not know. After the sun went down the weather wasn't too bad and we got some great pictures. Even with all the sweating I was glad that his graduation was outside. You can take better pictures than in the auditorium! And without air conditioning at the high school it would have been almost as hot.

Pake and Grandma came up for the weekend. I love seeing them, and I was glad that they were able to make it up for the celebration. This is the difference between Pake and Grandma. Grandma gives hugs, and Pake gives handshakes. Thankfully we all made it through the heat, and went back to have cake and punch. Kristen found this fabulous strawberry punch recipe from Paula Deen. It was delicious. Mom and I picked just the right combination of cake, frosting, and filling for the cake, so everything really was terrific.
