A Busy Day

This morning we had our last orientation meeting with the People to People students. These are the students that I will be traveling to England with. As a delegation we have to do a community service project. We had the meeting at one of the other leader's school, and it just so happened that they needed a mural painted. The students had a great time painting the wall but also each other. By the end of an hour or so we really made the painting come alive. I even gave it a shot, turns out I am not that great at painting small bubbles. I wished Kristen was there to help me. : )

I got back from the painting, was at the apartment for about an hour, and saying to Katie that I had nothing to do that day. Then Katie's phone rang (which is not surprising because so many people call her). Her friend Dane invited us to go out on his boat. It was amazing. We went really fast and broke through the waves, and amazingly i didn't get sea sick. Dane and his friend Nick took us on a tour of what I'll call Miami Harbor (because I have no idea what the real name is.) We could see downtown Miami from the water and Key Biscayne where I go to the beach. Then we sailed around to Star Island where the rich and famous live. One of the houses in the pictures is worth 46 million dollars. The taller condo is where Oprah and maybe Tom Cruise have vacation homes. We came back in just in time for the sunset, and it was beautiful. Beside the fact that I was covered in sea salt from being splashed by the waves and my hair looked horrific, it was a fabulous afternoon, and completely spur of the moment fun.
